Room 101 Cigars: A Moment With Matt Booth
Latest News: Namakubi, Room 101 Connecticut, and Papi Chulo size extention in the Conjura Edition
Namakubi is a name that comes from the Samurai culture, where in ancient times when two Samurai clans gathered for competition and one clan was defeated, the leader of the winning clan would then receive the Namakubi- freshly severed head of the losing party prepared on a wooden tray and tagged in a regimented manner, as a gift. The Room 101 Namakubi Limited Edition cigar has been tagged (banded) and presented to us for our enjoyment.
The Namakubi features a Habano wrapper, Generoso seed Honduran binder, Dominican and Honduran Vuelta Abajo fillers, and is medium to full bodied. It is slightly spicy, and though powerful it is strong without being too much on the palate. The presence of spice is more subtle. The Namakubi also features beautifully hand drawn art by Chuey Quintanar of Los Angeles; he drew the FU and font for the box design. Sizes include the “Papi Chulo” 42 x 4, “Roxxo” 48 x 4, “Tiburon” 44 x 6, “Sucio” 48 x 7, and “Monstro” 60 x 5″
The Room 101 Connecticut is another exciting new release. This is a medium bodied cigar with a nice amount of spice, a “Connecticut with a kick!”. It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Corojo binder, and filler from Honduras and Dominican Republic.
Favorite Cigar and Drink Pairing/ “Perfect Day”:A Kurt Kendall 7.20.4 cigar or Adrian’s Costa Rican cigar with Strawberry Kool-Aid, then chew bubble gum, hang out with his dog, go for a walk on the beach, then catch a comedy show later if that was possible, then go to France (he hasn’t been yet, would be kinda hip), then end up with a night cap- finish off the evening with a Papi Chulo size in the Conjura blend!
